My nephew and godson Louie Barati has been battling Familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP) which is an inherited disorder characterized by cancer of the large intestine (colon) and rectum since October of last year. He was finishing the fall semester of his Sophomore year at the University of Michigan when the growths were discovered.
This incredible, and inspiring young man has endured a lot over the course of the last year as has our entire family....but his is an inspiring story of staying strong, like our family with a happy ending, and I would love to tell the story in the form of a new song....but I need all of your help to do so !!
I would like to write, and record a song dedicated for Louie, and it will be produced by international award winning artist J.R. Richards (Counting Blue Cars Billboard 1996, ASCAP 1997 and 1998) in the U.K.
J.R. produced my first two songs, and is also working with my guitarist Ryan Harrison, and I on the next two.
The cost associated with recording and producing music for an independent artist is heavy which is why it takes so long to release music, but we will be heading to England to record in October, and I truly want to be able to give this song to my nephew. This isn't something for profit for me.....he has inspired me that anytime I feel low about something, here is this young man of 20 years into life, who has fought for his life the last year, and has still managed to work and take classes online. Everyone should take a lesson from him. He is a true hero...
